Terms of Service
Effective Date: June 1, 2026
By accessing or using DeckTrue (the “Service”), available at decktrue.com and operated by DeckTrue (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or in-app notification.
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
DeckTrue is a software-as-a-service platform that analyzes and processes Microsoft PowerPoint presentation files (.pptx). The Service currently provides:
- Copilot Readiness scoring and automated template fixes
- Master slide and layout cleanup
- Brand compliance checking (colors, fonts, theme structure)
- Template certification services
The Service processes uploaded PowerPoint files using automated rules-based analysis and, where applicable, artificial intelligence. DeckTrue does not open, view, or manually review the content of your presentations. Processing is automated.
3. Account Registration
You must create an account to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information and maintain the security of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service.
4. Subscription Plans and Pricing
DeckTrue offers the following subscription tiers:
- Free: Limited access to diagnostic features, including Copilot Readiness scoring.
- Starter ($19/month): Includes automated fixes, Brand Check, and standard processing limits.
- Pro ($39/month): Full access to all features, priority processing, and higher usage limits.
Template Certification is available as a separate engagement at $199–$499 per template, depending on scope.
We may also offer lifetime deal pricing through third-party marketplaces (e.g., AppSumo). Lifetime deals are subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable marketplace and any supplemental terms we provide at the time of purchase. Lifetime deal holders receive access to features as described at the time of their purchase; future features beyond the original scope are not guaranteed under lifetime deals.
We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect the current billing cycle of existing subscribers. We will provide at least 30 days’ notice of price increases to active subscribers.
5. Payment and Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly recurring basis through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on file.
All fees are stated in U.S. dollars and are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as expressly stated in these Terms. If you cancel your subscription, you retain access to paid features through the end of your current billing period.
We do not store your credit card information. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, Inc., and is subject to Stripe’s terms and privacy policy.
6. File Upload and Processing
6.1 Your Files
You retain all ownership rights to the PowerPoint files and templates you upload to DeckTrue. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
6.2 License Grant
By uploading files, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to process, analyze, and modify those files solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This license terminates when you delete the files or close your account.
6.3 File Storage and Retention
Uploaded files and processed outputs are stored in secure cloud infrastructure (Supabase). Files are retained for the duration of your account’s active status to enable re-processing, historical comparison, and continued service delivery. You may delete your files at any time through the Service interface.
Upon account deletion, we will delete your uploaded files and processed outputs within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, dispute resolution).
6.4 File Size and Format
The Service accepts .pptx files only. We may impose file size limits, which will be communicated in the application interface. We are not responsible for processing failures caused by corrupted, password-protected, macro-enabled, or malformed files.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Upload files containing malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent usage limits, access controls, or security features
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service without our written consent
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, algorithms, scoring methodologies, user interface, design, documentation, and branding, is owned by DeckTrue and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or brand elements.
The Copilot Readiness Score methodology, Brand Check analysis rules, and template certification criteria are proprietary to DeckTrue.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
9.1 Service Provided “As Is”
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
9.2 No Guarantee of Outcomes
DeckTrue provides diagnostic and remediation tools for PowerPoint files. We do not guarantee that:
- Processed files will be fully compatible with Microsoft Copilot or any other third-party software
- All template or presentation issues will be detected or corrected
- Processed files will render identically across all versions of PowerPoint, Google Slides, or other presentation software
- The Copilot Readiness Score will predict actual Copilot performance
The Copilot Readiness Score is a proprietary assessment based on our analysis of PowerPoint template structure. It is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or certified by Microsoft Corporation.
9.3 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DECKTRUE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
FOR LIFETIME DEAL PURCHASERS, LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE ONE-TIME AMOUNT PAID FOR THE LIFETIME DEAL.
9.4 File Processing Risk
While we take care to preserve the integrity of your files, automated processing of PowerPoint files carries inherent risk. Complex files with non-standard XML structures, embedded objects, macros, or legacy formatting may not process correctly. You acknowledge that you should retain your original files and review all processed output before use.
We strongly recommend keeping backup copies of all files before processing. DeckTrue is not liable for any corruption, data loss, or formatting changes that may occur during processing.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DeckTrue and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) the content of files you upload to the Service.
11. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with or relies upon third-party services, including:
- Stripe for payment processing
- Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage
- Render for backend infrastructure
Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.
References to Microsoft, PowerPoint, Microsoft 365 Copilot, or other Microsoft products are for descriptive purposes only. DeckTrue is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft Corporation.
12. Termination
You may cancel your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 8, 9, 10, 13, and 14 survive termination.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising under these Terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation for a period of thirty (30) days. If the dispute is not resolved, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the ADR Institute of Canada, conducted in the Province of Ontario. The language of arbitration shall be English.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
14. General Provisions
Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and DeckTrue regarding the Service.
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights without restriction.
Force Majeure: We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, acts of government, internet or infrastructure failures, or third-party service outages.
